ABOUT APT

ABBY POWELL TURPIN 

​

Abby Turpin is a marketing, communications, and development professional with a background in strategic storytelling across both media and mission-driven organizations. She spent more than 11 years in television news as an anchor, reporter, and executive producer, earning regional Edward R. Murrow, Associated Press, and Emmy awards.

Abby has since led national and local initiatives for organizations including Keep America Beautiful and Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, developing strategies to increase fundraising, build brand awareness, and deepen community engagement. She now serves on the executive leadership team at the Northeast Iowa Food Bank, a Feeding America affiliate, as Director of Development, Marketing, and Communications. In this role, she oversees fundraising, donor relations, marketing, communications, volunteer engagement, and community outreach, guiding efforts to expand resources and strengthen partnerships across a 16-county service area.

In addition to her full-time role, Abby runs APT Communications, Marketing, and Media, a consulting agency she founded to serve school systems, nonprofits, and small businesses. She holds a degree from Belmont University and enjoys family life with her husband and daughter.

Chuck's hands-on experience in the day-to-day operations and activities inform his decisions, and make Chuck a credible source for any nonprofit looking for guidance in fundraising or strategic planning.
